Welcome to the Newman Fine Art Website

Newman Fine Art was established by Derek Newman in September 2004 following the death of his mother and business partner Heather Newman.

Heather founded the Heather Newman Gallery in 1968 at 'Millidduwa' near Painswick in Gloucestershire. Derek became her business partner in 1984.

Sadly, the business is being wound down after 57 years of regular exhibitions following Derek's recent death in September 2025.

The Newman family have always specialised in fine quality British watercolours of the 18th, 19th and early 20th Centuries.  

Derek and Heather's deep knowledge of watercolour artists and strong reputation will live on: whenever you look on the back of a watercolour and find a Heather Newman Gallery or Newman Fine Art label, you can be sure the picture is correctly attributed.   

Some of the pictures listed here in the Gallery Stock have been sold or retained by the Newman family, but the majority are available at half the marked price until the end of 2025.
